I’m glad you made it here; welcome. Regardless of who walks through my office door and what issues they’d like to tackle, my first focus as a clinician is to provide a safe and collaborative space to let the work take shape. You may be experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, a seismic transition, are unsatisfied with the direction and quality of your work or relationships, or just feel there are too many seemingly insurmountable barriers to living the kind of existence you want and imagine. If that resonates for you, I invite you to reach out. I'm happy to offer a free 15 minute consultation to see if we might be a good fit.

About
IMG_9864.jpg

Therapy is a collaborative process. I won't pull you from the front or push you from behind. Instead, I'll walk alongside you to guide, challenge, mentor, and ask salient questions. Together, we’ll explore the terrain of your life with non-judgmental stances so everything can see the light of day. I know the power of being able to share your story with someone you can neither shock nor disappoint. While therapy can be hard work, it’s so important to feel a sense of connection, acceptance, and possibility while you're in the midst of it. I’ll approach our sessions with curiosity, engagement, kindness, directness, and a sense of humor. What I hope more than anything is that, over time, you begin to get a sense of the difference between just getting by and thriving.

While each client is different, I tend to work most often through a handful of theoretical lenses, including psychodynamic, existential, humanistic, and mindfulness. I invite you to reach out to schedule an initial phone call to assess whether we are a good fit.

About
Faded Sandpaper

I'm a firm believer in the power of an examined life. Our unique ability to evolve our mindsets and narratives means we can quite literally alter the course of our lived experience.  To find the balance in our cognitive, emotional, and more instinctive realms we are often asked to deconstruct aspects of our early programming. Because of this, therapy poses a risk to our status quo and may feel destabilizing, particularly at the onset of the work. Working with a therapist you resonate with can help reframe the experience of discomfort as a necessary tax of growth and evolution. I'm very interested in the emotional and functional aspects of the mind/body connection, and address this in my work with clients.

I work with adults, aged 18 and older. I start each new client on a weekly cadence to establish momentum and over time make the joint decision to reduce sessions or close out our work together. I work best with clients who are self-motivated and come to their therapy sessions with intentionality.

As a former executive coach and consultant, I work well with senior leaders across industries. I'm also experienced with guiding women through the menopausal years and working with seniors of all ages.

I offer group therapy for women in the midst of the menopausal experience. This can be an especially unrestful time because of hormonal fluctuations and the physical discomforts they can create. But the difficulties of these years are also aggravated by a culture that literally ignores this stage of life, as if it doesn't matter or even exist. In the Maiden, Mother, Crone archetypes, it's the crone that's frequently marginalized: socially, medically, and culturally.  Yet it's also a time of incredible growth potential and transformation. Learning how to enliven our intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual selves in the company of other travelers helps balance the inevitable tumult of this period of a woman's life.

The groups are small (6-7 women in each group) and consist of a combination of psycho-education on the week's topic, deep sharing without crosstalk, and then an opportunity to dialogue. Each group is 90 minutes in duration and meets weekly for 8 weeks.  Reach out if you'd like more information.

Session Info

Fees and Insurance

My rate is $175 for a 50 minute session. I am out-of-network with all insurance carriers. While my clients pay  me (via IVY, a payment app for therapists), I will provide a super bill monthly you can submit to your insurance carrier if they offer an out-of-network benefit. The specific amount of this reimbursement depends on your plan, and your insurer will be able to tell you exactly what this reimbursement would be. To inquire, you might contact your insurer and ask what the out-of-network reimbursement would be for outpatient psychotherapy. To facilitate your receipt of out-of-network reimbursement, I will provide you with the statements your insurer requires. If you plan to use your insurance for therapy, you are strongly advised to call your insurer prior to our first meeting to be clear about your benefits and how they pertain to our work.

Cancelation/Late attendance Policies

You may cancel an appointment with at least 24 hours notice. If you have not given 24 hours notice for any reason, you'll be responsible for paying for your reserved time slot. Of course, benefit companies will not cover missed appointments. This payment will be due at our next meeting.

Please note that in the case of a late arrival, appointments will still end at their scheduled time.
